Super Crown

When Toadette finds one of these, she can transform into the super-powered Peachette. (Sorry Luigi—only Toadette can use this item!)

A lot of fanmade characters can garner significant levels of traction both inside and outside of their respective fanbases. Only one, however, got big enough to have her own Wikipedia article. (So far.)

It all started one fine Nintendo Direct on September 13, 2018. Announcements included Luigi's Mansion 3, remakes and ports of several Final Fantasy titles, Isabelle joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a teaser for a new Animal Crossing game... with all this rejoice-worthy news, what was yet another Wii U title getting ported over to the Nintendo Switch, New Super Mario Bros. U in this case, would have gone virtually unnoticed if not for one little detail: Not only would Toadette get Promoted to Playable, but she also came with an exclusive Power-Up called the "Super Crown", which would turn her into a Princess Peach lookalike named "Peachette".

At first, it was just the Mario fan-base exploring what such a power-up means for the Mario setting as a whole, or wondering what would happen if the Mario Bros, other Toads, or even folks like Bowser used Toadette's Super Crown...

...But then the idea of Bowser using the Super Crown inspired Malaysian artist Ayyk92 to draw a comic (Twitter link, DeviantArt link) depicting Bowser using the Super Crown, whereupon he is turned into a Peachette-esque woman (using elements from Bowser's design instead of Toadette's), and then hooking up with Mario following Super Mario Odyssey's ending. This comic then promptly exploded, with the internet quickly dubbing the character "Bowsette". Fan Art of Bowsette based on her design in the comic (as well as edits of it which retain Bowser's red hair, and alternately also tan skin to represent Bowser's yellow-brown) flooded the internet afterwards, to the point of her becoming an Ensemble Dark Horse in the fandom mere days after her inception. Meanwhile, Japanese fans dubbed her "Kuppa-hime" ("Princess Koopa") after Bowser's Japanese name, which became a top-trending Twitter and Pixiv tag in short order. ^note (To put into perspective how popular Bowsette became little more than a week since she was introduced, the amount of Bowser fan-art on Pixiv at that time numbered to around 3,000, while the amount of Peach fan-art numbered around 5,000. Bowsette, on the other hand, numbered at a whopping 7,000 fan-art pieces. Bowsette got more fan-art on Pixiv in less than a month since her creation than either Bowser or Peach had gotten up to that point since the website Pixiv was founded. Also of note is, in that same short timeframe, several professional manga artists joined in and drew their own art of her, including those of Dagashi Kashi, The Elder Sister-like One, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid {whose mangaka Cool-Kyou Shinsha drew no less than nine different Bowsette pictures}, Tsugumomo, Pop Team Epic, One-Punch Man and the manga version of Goblin Slayer, as well as the character designer for Street Fighter and Darkstalkers.)

The Bowsette comic also quickly spawned another, separate trend of applying the Super Crown to other Mario characters and common enemies, with most recurring ones having at least one fan-art depicting a Super Crown form, as well as various Crossovers with other franchises and, of course, other memes.

She has a small mention on the Super Mario Wiki, a fan-run event in Japan called "Project Crown", and, as mentioned, she does indeed have a full-fledged page on The Other Wiki. And of course, she's got a nice page on one of the more appropriate places, Know Your Meme.

As with all memes, Bowsette eventually faded from the general community, but two closure-worthy events occured on January 11, 2019. First, Ayyk92 was rewarded with a glass trophy by Pixiv and Nico Nico Douga, as Bowsette had placed 16th in Japan's Twitter Trend Awards. Yes, really. Second, on the same day, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe released... including its in-game confirmation that only Toadette can wear the Super Crown, finally jossing all the original fan theories and speculation that started this in the first place. ^note (This also managed to spawn a brand-new meme in the process, albeit a smaller and largely unrelated one.)

Of course, don't let that mislead you into thinking she's completely gone or forgotten, as she's still fondly remembered by some and still gets fanart, albeit not as much as she used to. There's even an ongoing webcomic about her that has its own page, Bowsette Saga. Perhaps unsurprisingly, any new Bowser-related material tends to inspire an upsurge in Bowsette fanart, for example Doug Bowser becoming Nintendo of America's CEO, the release of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury with its new "Fury Bowser" form, or most recently the announcement that Jack Black would play Bowser in an upcoming Super Mario Bros. movie, leading to fanart of, well, Jack Black as Bowsette.

    The Super Crown phenomenon as a whole

• Adaptational Jerkass: Comics where Bowsette is presented as the better option usually has Peach revealed to be an Attention Whore, upset with both Bowser and Mario since they don't need a reason to pursue her anymore. Occasionally Mario is given the same treatment, as he would be shown to pursue anything that looks like Peach regardless of what they actually are; she and Bowsette are so disgusted they drop him, getting together instead.
• Alternative Character Interpretation: Before Nintendo's Obvious Rule Patch, the Super Crown received a lot of this.
• Always Female: Usually agreed to be the case for Super Crown wearers, due to the power-up's connection to Princess Peach (and, well, Male Gaze).
• Best Known for the Fanservice: Arguably, this is the reason it blew up so much and lasted as long as it did. The fan-art generally outshined jokes related to the trend, for starters.
• Cute Monster Girl: Just about every Super Crown wearer qualifies.
• Critical Research Failure: People joining in on the bandwagon without knowing the full context resulted in the fairly straightforward "Princess Peach clone with Morphic Resonance" concept being misinterpreted by several artists. As such, it's not uncommon to see Super Crown art where the wearer has little resemblance to Princess Peach, or even art which could be better described as "Moe Anthropomorphism with a crown".
• Crown of Power: Toadette's Super Crown grants potentially every resident of the Mushroom Kingdom Peach's form and abilities on top of their own.
• Demoted to Extra: Toadette, the original Super Crown wearer, usually shows up to either get the Crown stolen from her or lend it out to curious prospects, if she's not trying to keep it to herself or destroy it.
• Depending on the Artist: Considering Bowsette and her ilk are all fan-characters, it comes with the territory. Further details are in each character's individual sections.
  • The most popular depiction is blonde hair and light skin, but red hair and tanned skin (to better reflect Bowser's usual appearance) is also common.
• Different for Girls: Several comics have Bowsette kidnapping Peach so that Peach can help her with her clothes, or her nails, or the bleeding...
• Discredited Meme: Naturally because of its oversaturation within the populace, this has led to the obvious It's Popular, Now It Sucks! and Hype Backlash knee-jerk reaction amongst certain people (especially those whom don't enjoy Rule 63 or Rule 34). It became not exactly uncommon for there to be a lot of fan art, animations, and even memes of the characters from the Super Mario verse to try and dispose of the Crown for all the trouble it's caused. With the reasons for its destruction or the character(s) that destroy it tending to differ but have a common goal at least. Although for humor's sake, there's sometimes a chance where the attempt to destroy the Crown tends to backfire spectacularly.invoked
• Dude Looks Like a Lady: Some versions of the Crown keep the idea that anyone who wears it will turn human and feminine, but twist it so they're still male underneath. One particular comic had it done to Toad.
  • Some drawings of the Koopalings have Wendy (being the only girl on the team) fall victim to this in order to reverse the gender balance.
• Fanon: The whole thing owes its existence to fanon!
• Fanon Discontinuity: Officially, only Toadette can wear the Super Crown. ^note (The other characters of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe won't transform if they touch the Super Crown, instead getting a 10-coin bonus.) Of course, that's not going to stop anyone. It also doesn't help that the confirmation was within the game itself, released after the meme had already subsided.
• Fountain of Expies: The sheer popularity of Bowsette led to an onslaught of other Mario villains getting the same treatment in fanworks.
• Germans Love David Hasselhoff: Bowsette, Peachyboo, and the like have caught the eye of many fans all over the world. Take note of how they have particularly hit a sweet spot with Japan.
• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The original fan comic that spawned Bowsette was a riff on the ending to Super Mario Odyssey, having Bowser (as Bowsette) and Mario hook up after getting rejected. One week later, the art-book of that game is found to contain a small concept comic of Bowser using an Evil Knockoff of Cappy to capture Peach, which turns her into a Peach/Bowser hybrid.
  • Considering some gags like to have everyone but Luigi turn into Peach (Luigi himself just showing up in a Peach costume), the in-game text specifically singling him out as someone who can't use the Super Crown ended up being consistent with that interpretation.
• Hotter and Sexier: While Bowsette's usual design itself isn't much more than "Peach in black", it's not much of a stretch to assume Bowser's personality in Peach's body would make for a Shameless Fanservice Girl. The trope becomes much more apparent with other Super Crown wearers.
• Humble Beginnings: Ayyk92 was a very small artist with no particularly notable works. Then he created Bowsette.
• Humanity Ensues: Obviously, although Played With since the premise is to make a Princess Peach clone. Varies by artist, though; most designs will have the end result look like a princess or wear a dress at the very least, but in some cases it will just be more of a straightforward human transformation with the Always Female aspect being the only remnant.
• Hype Backlash: Due to the copious amounts of explicit fanart that flooded the internet, Bowsette quickly became associated with porn and little more. To this day the meme is derided for it, although Bowsette had and still has plenty of fans who emphasize the meme's wholesome qualities. ^note (In addition, of course, to those who never had a problem with the pornographic fanart to begin with.)
• Late-Arrival Spoiler: As mentioned above, knowing the full context of Bowsette's inception requires one to know the ending of Super Mario Odyssey, in which Mario and Bowser vying for Peach's affection descends into a petty argument, prompting the princess to turn down the both of them.
• Meaningful Release Date: Whether by coincidence or not, Ayyk92 received his aforementioned trophy on the launch date of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe.
• Memetic Loser:
  • Peachette was overshadowed almost immediately upon the birth of the fan characters her Power-Up inspired. In the rare occasions where people remember she exists at all, she is usually portrayed as upset, heartbroken, or just annoyed at the sheer scale of her stolen spotlight. Some even say she was upstaged twice in the same meme, given that the most popular jokes were about Peach's reactions rather than hers. And if someone does remember Peachette, 9 times out of 10, it's only to say she never should've worn the Crown in the first place, because then Bowser wouldn't have gotten to it.
  • As mentioned, Princess Peach is this, consistently confused about the Super Crown phenomenon and (like in the original comic that inspired the meme) getting passed up by Mario for Bowsette/other Super Crown wearers.
• Memetic Mutation: Where this all came from. Some sub-memes:
  • "If Bowser turned into Peach, then who's ruling the Koopa Kingdom?" Naturally, this led to Peach getting her own item that turns her into Bowser.
  • The Splatoon 2 character Pearl is a squid-girl who wears a crown. Images have cropped up of her actually being a Blooper who put the Super Crown on and/or encountering a Blooper wearing the Crown.
    • Similarly, many joke about Kirby trying on the Super Crown and becoming Android 21.
    • Never-mind the idea of what would happen if Peach herself wore the Super Crown. Some people will respond with comparisons to Tetsuo or Perfect Cell, others will respond with one of the earlier fan theories and say she already is (one comic even shows Peach reverting back into a Toad after removing her Crown).
  • People jokingly asking "Is that your Bowsette OC?" to pictures of Peachette or asking "But what if Toadette got the Super Crown?" Alternatively, portraying Toadette as jealous or upset that she got her spotlight stolen. (Isn't it sad, Toadette?)
  • Antagonizing the Super Crown In-Universe. Many people depict characters (especially Peach) as disliking it for various reasons (sometimes meta, sometimes not). However, if said characters attempt to actually destroy the Crown, it inevitably goes horribly wrong and humanizes yet another thing, alluding to the meme's unfaltering popularity. The Bourgyman of The 3 Little Princesses fame gives us this example where Mario and Peach try to dispose of the Super Crown with a Lava Pit, only to accidentally create a "Lava-ette".
  • Bayonetta is just ◊ Bowsette Hideo Kojima.
    • Hideo Kojima + Super Crown = Ikumi Nakamura.
• Meme Acknowledgement: Nintendo is aware of Bowsette, but they "have no comment". Later Subverted within the game itself, wherein the item's description brings up Luigi rather than Bowser. ^note (It's a Continuity Nod to the times Luigi has dressed up as Peach. Any Bowsette-related implications could very well be a coincidence, but there's no saying for certain.)
• Milestone Celebration:
• Most Common Superpower: Super Crown wearers in general are often drawn with a large bust.
• Non-Indicative Name: A common complaint is that "Bowsette" is actually a misnomer, since Peachette's name results from Toadette being transformed into Peach. Following this naming scheme, something like "Peachser" would be a more accurate name for Bowser transformed into Peach, while "Bowsette" would instead refer to Toadette transformed into Bowser. Nevertheless, the name "Bowsette" rolls off the tongue better, so it stuck. This also resulted in the equally-troublesome "[Character]ette" naming convention for other Super Crown wearers (but some of them do have more appropriate alternative names).
• Not Distracted by the Sexy: Dreamin's version has Mario encounter Bowsette in a castle, take a look at her, and chop the bridge away as usual, to her surprise.
• One Steve Limit:
  • Using the non-indicative "ette" naming scheme, Peachette's name looks like a potential transformation for Peach herself. Unfortunately, it led to some mean-spirited jokes where Peachette is accused of having no identity beyond being a Peach clone.
    • One example who doesn't use the naming convention is Pon-Pon, a ProtonJon alt who received the Bowsette treatment (her name instead uses a different naming convention).
  • To avoid accidentally running into this with Toad, his transformation is typically referred to as "Princess Toad" in all languages.
• Planet of Hats:
  • This animated short, from the creator of Kingdumb Hearts, has Bowser mistake so many Super Crown wearers for Peach, that Mario attempts to turn everyone in Peach's castle, including himself, into her Body Doubles. By the end of the cartoon, everything in the Mushroom Kingdom has also become a Peach doppelgänger, as well as the whole planet. ^note (The Super Crown turns out to have no effect on Daisy, already a human princess, and changes the real Peach into a Toad.)
  • This comic starts off in a world where everyone's already been turned into a Peach clone (save Luigi, who gets turned into Daisy instead).
• Punny Name: Aside from the "[Character]ette" naming convention, Super Crown users are usually named this way.
• Rule 63: Played With, in that it's based on turning characters into Always Female Peach lookalikes and not a straightforward Gender Bender. That said, how much they actually resemble Peach can vary depending on the artist; many designs don't bother trying to resemble her but still keep a general "princess" theme, but some won't even have that, which for already-human characters often becomes more of a straight gender change.
• Rule of Sexy: Often how Super Crown wearers are designed. Obviously, this is at odds with having designs based off of Princess Peach, so it's very much a balancing act. Ironically, this was hardly the case at all with Ayyk92's original comic. ^note (Ayyk92 only made Bowsette "sexier" in two ways: First, Peach's shoulders aren't exposed while Bowsette's are. This is fine, since Peach's wedding dress does expose her shoulders, as does Rosalina's usual gown. Second, Peach's breasts are only indicated through the shape of her figure, whereas Bowsette's have a line separating them. This is arguably fine as well, since Rosalina does a similar thing in 3D, but regardless it's a very minor detail. Of course, Self-Fanservice is in full force here, so much of the art beyond Ayyk92's feature things Nintendo wouldn't allow, such as larger breasts or truly Hotter and Sexier outfits.)
• Screw Yourself: It's common to combine the effects of this power-up with the Double Cherry from Super Mario 3D World to accomplish this.
• Spear Counterpart: Smaller but noble efforts to see what a male version of the Crown would do sprung up in the wake of the meme.
• Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: ScottFalco in particular shows what actually happens when you try to invoke Bowsette.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: It's baffling that there's so little art of fellow female Toads turning into Peach clones. There are plenty of examples from the Paper Mario series, for example.

• A-Cup Angst: Sometimes depicted as being jealous of Bowsette having bigger breasts than her, like here.
• Anthropomorphic Personification: Inverted, as the the purpose of this form is to see what she'd look like without the Crown.
• Becoming the Mask:
  • One interpretation has her as one of the many castle Toads in World 8 of the original Super Mario Bros., putting it on so she can give the Mushroom Kingdom a ruler again. As the years pass, she grows into her role and is effectively the real Peach from then on.
  • Another has her simply as the Toad ruler of the kingdom who uses the Crown as her public persona, but kept up the disguise for so long she considers the princess form as her true self.
• Depending on the Writer: Is she ashamed of her Toad heritage or proud? Did she do it for political purposes, personal reasons, or for fun? Do the Mario Bros. know, and how accepting of her are they if or when they find out?
• Meaningful Name: Her last name isn't Toadstool for nothing. Similarly, abbreviating it as "Peach T." fits in with the pun-based Theme Naming for Toads in the Paper Mario series.
• Morphic Resonance: Some interpretations give Peach's Toad form a pink dress-like costume and blonde hair under her mushroom cap, implying this is retained in her princess form.
• Non-Standard Character Design: Being the "basis" of how the Crown works, her princess form doesn't add anything different to her design. The real challenge is figuring out her Toad form.
• Tomato in the Mirror
• The Woman Wearing the Queenly Mask: Literally in one case, where she takes the Crown off before getting some time to herself.

• Alternative Character Interpretation: The original Bowsette comic by Ayyk92 depicted her being with Mario at the end of it. While most people interpret this as them becoming a couple, it could be simply that they were trying to make Peach jealous. There are questions about if Bowser would really turn into a girl just to date Mario or if he is still in love with Peach. It really depends on if you think Bowser/Bowsette just wanted anyone to love them or if they wanted Peach specifically.
• Be Yourself: An unofficial continuation of the original comic has her use the form to propose to Mario. Like Peach, he gives off a Big "NO!"... then takes the Crown off, wanting to start a relationship with the real Bowser. It works out.
• Boobs of Steel: Bowsette has a large bust. She still possesses the immense strength she had as Bowser, though, resulting in this trope.
• Closet Key:
  • Peach in some art is shown to be very distracted around Bowsette. Even in some jealousy art, it's Mario she is jealous of.
  • For Mario as well, who finds himself falling for his once-eternal frenemy, though it's very complicated as to how it works and very NSFW to talk about.
• Cute Little Fangs: There are many comics that show her with these.
• Depending on the Artist:
  • Does Bowsette have Peach's blonde hair and complexion, or is she a Dark-Skinned Redhead, or is she a Redhead In Green as in the Super Mario Odyssey art-book? How much "thicker" is she than Peach? Does she have a tail? How revealing is her dress?
  • What exactly are her sexuality and preferences now? Does she still desire Peach? Has she fallen for Mario? And let's not even get started on what it means when she and other transformed characters get together.
• Distracted by My Own Sexy: The short linked under Planet of Hats above has one part in which a mirror sidetracks Bowsette from attempting to kidnap Peach. Bowsette goes after her reflection, instead, but only ends up with mirror shards in the eyes.
• Even the Girls Want Her: Commonplace to see fan art that has Peach fall for Bowsette, sometimes to Bowsette's horror.
• Evil Is Sexy: Princess Peach is already good-looking, and Bowser is assertive, self-confident, surprisingly romantic, and more than a bit adorkable, making for a very bedeviling combination.
• Evil Wears Black: Whether a Pimped-Out Dress or Black Bra and Panties, Bowsette always wears this color unless the artist is going with her Odyssey art-book colors.
• Giant Woman: Given both Bowser's official Sizeshifter abilities and his inconsistently-portrayed size outside of those abilities throughout the Mario franchise's mainline games and spinoffs, many artists have used these as the basis for pictures depicting a giantess Bowsette, sometimes replacing Bowser in the situations of the games where he's bigger than the playable characters. For example, this picture by SwordwaltzWORKS seats a massive Bowsette on the giant throne Bowser sits on in his galaxies in Super Mario Galaxy 2.
• Horned Humanoid: A constant feature of Bowsette is the horns.
• Little Bit Beastly: Most portrayals of Bowsette retain Bowser's signature tail, horns, and shell on a human-like body.
• LGBT Fanbase: As one of the most iconic and fearsome Final Bosses in gaming with the body of a Pretty Princess Powerhouse, Bowsette is always depicted with an air of confidence in her voluptuous looks, making her a potential Escapist Character for trans women.
• Morphic Resonance: Bowsette always retains Bowser's shell, horns, and spiked bands, with optional features including a tail, red hair, and a little more meat on her bones.
• One Mario Limit: On February 21, 2019, Reggie Fils-Aime announced that he would be retiring from President of Nintendo of America. Softening the blow was that his position would be superseded by... Doug Bowser. Cue jokes about Bowser trending on Twitter. Cue "Doug Bowsette" trending on Twitter. ^note (In reality a majority of the tweets were of people commenting on the fact that it was trending, making it more of a Self-Fulfilling Prophecy, but rest assured there were plenty of Doug Bowsette images making the rounds.)
• Parental Substitute: This comic shows Bowser becoming Bowsette to fill in for Bowser Jr.'s Missing Mom.
• Pity the Kidnapper: Some fan art and web comics depict Peach falling for Bowsette, Bowsette finds Peach's attention to be too aggressive and begs for Mario to save her, like in this comic, much to Mario's confusion.
• Princesses Rule: At least in the Japanese side, in which she is called Koopa-Hime which translates to Princess Koopa. This is despite the fact she still rules the Koopa Kingdom by herself and thus would be seen as the queen.
• Redhead In Green: Bowser Peach (a Captured version of Peach taken from the Super Mario Odyssey artbook regarded as an "official" Bowsette) has this color scheme.
• Removable Shell: Bowser's shell is pretty much decorative on Bowsette. According to this sketch dump by Ayyk92, it's on a hinge!
  • A bonus page in the Bowsette Saga webcomic depicts the shell as removable armor; it even has pockets on the inside to store small items.
• Showing Off the New Body: This sequel comic by Ayyk92 shows Bowsette quietly turning heads at the latest Bad-Anon meeting.
• Sleeves Are for Wimps: Bowsette's take on Peach's gown typically drops the Giant Poofy Sleeves.
• Villain Song: "Bowsette - The Song" by the French group Starrysky, which is sung from the point of view of Bowsette herself.

• Cute Ghost Girl: As expected from a ghost with Peach's body.
• Depending on the Artist: Booette is usually in an Ethereal White Dress, but the "Peachyboo" variant (which is actually a common Boo instead of King Boo) wears black to contrast her Undeathly Pallor. There's also the question of whether Booette has legs, Fog Feet, or both and at least one instance where she takes after Daisy instead of Peach (usually as part of a King Boo scheme to get at Luigi). There is also no set eye color; between artists, her eyes are usually variations of pink, red, purple, or just pitch black.
• Ensemble Dark Horse: Interestingly enough, Booette would go on to become the most popular of the off-shoots of Bowsette, being the closest one to rival Bowsette in the number of fanart.
• Giant Woman: The female variants of King Boo occasionally enter this territory, since the King partakes in Evil Is Bigger and is larger than both Luigi and the normal Boos.
• Maniac Tongue: In reference to the Boos' Overly Long Tongue.
• Morphic Resonance: Booette always has a pale white Undeathly Pallor and Maniac Tongue. Peachyboo takes it a step further with a hairstyle meant to resemble a Boo's shape, possessing large, flat bangs to imitate their heavy brow, and side flips to imitate their little arms.
• Most Common Superpower: Usually Exaggerated for this character.
• Non-Indicative Name: "Booette" has all the pitfalls of the standard "[Character]ette" naming convention, of course, but "Boosette" is even worse, since it's a portmanteau of "Boo" and the already-troublesome "Bowsette".
• Shrinking Violet: She's frequently depicted freezing up whenever directly looked at, as is typical of Boos.
• Stalker with a Crush: Due to Luigi's association with the Boos, she is often depicted as stalking him in fanart and then turning into a nervous mess when he notices. Some fanartists up the ante by making her take after Daisy instead of Peach in appearance, due to Luigi's association with the Sarasaland princess.

• Depending on the Artist: Whether or not Ridleyette has wings, and her tail has some leeway if it's an actual tail or it forms out of her ponytail.
• Draconic Humanoid: Depending on the Artist, but Ridleyette is often depicted with her dragon wings, tail, scales, sharp teeth, and occasionally claws.
• Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Averted. Ridley might be turned into a lady and wearing purple dresses, but she's every bit as violent and sociopathic as before.
• Lean and Mean: Ridleyette is often depicted as dangerously thin to reflect Ridley's own body, and she's still as vicious as before.
• Morphic Resonance: Ridleyette always retains Ridley's purple coloration on her dress, his bladed tail, sharp teeth, lean body, and yellow eyes, with optional parts including scales, wings, and horns.
• Yandere: Her interactions with Samus get a lot more suggestive in this form. She's still very much trying to kill her, though.

    Miscellaneous

Goomba Tower

• Required Secondary Powers: Only the topmost Goomba is actually wearing a Crown, but all four Goombas are transformed. Justified since they worked similarly in Super Mario Odyssey, where Cappy can possess a whole stack as if it were one entity.
• Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: The whole "Tower" concept is a bit difficult with humans.

• Big Eater: "I'm so hungry FEED ME goddammit"
• Non-Standard Character Design: Takes after Rosalina instead of Peach.

• Non-Standard Character Design: Like Luma above, some traits of her appearance are drawn from Rosalina.

Wario

• Mundane Utility: Much of Wario's comics deliberately never have him use the Crown for sexy reasons; he either uses it to abuse perks women might get or pawns it off to make a quick buck. For example, this comic has him use it to get the ladies' discount at an all-you-can-eat joint.

Yoshette The creation of Luke Westaway from Outside Xtra, egged on by his co-host Ellen Rose.

• Author Appeal: Noted dinosaur lover Luke gave her "T. rex hands."
• Badass Adorable: Luke drew her to be very cute, but there are hints that she would know how to handle herself in a fight.
• Embarrassing Hobby: Not for Yoshette herself, but Luke has some 'splaining to do when his colleague Andy walks in.

  Luke: Oh, now Andy's here! (turns his clipboard over) We're doing normal things.
  Andy: What on Earth have you drawn?
  Luke: We're doing normal things! I'm a normal adult man!

• God Save Us from the Queen!: Has a scepter for "walloping" her subjects when they get stroppy, and a diamond shell that can ostensibly "meat-grind" her enemies. Including Mario, if he tries to ride on her back anymore.
• High-Class Gloves: For her T. rex hands.

Bowsette

The Chalkeaters' song "Bowsette" is partly sung from the perspective of the titular character, proclaiming that all her evil schemes are attempts to get Mario's affection, and that Princess Peach doesn't really care about him, but she does.
